How it works
Our specialist child autism assessments at Neurodivergems are designed to be as supportive and accessible as possible. We begin with a parent-led interview, so we can gain real insight into your child's unique behavioural and developmental profile. Sessions are child-friendly, reducing anxiety and helping young people feel at ease.
Our clinicians are paediatric-informed and adopt a neuro-affirming mindset, recognising that autism presents in many different ways as children grow. Using gold-standard diagnostic tools, supported by AI-enhanced eye-tracking technology, we produce assessments that are trusted by GPs, local authorities, and education settings across Manchester and beyond.
What's Included in an Autism Assessment?
Pre-assessment Screening
You'll begin with screening questionnaires, designed to gather key background and developmental information about your child. This ensures we fully understand your concerns and your child's unique behaviours.
Developmental History & Parent Interview
We conduct a thorough interview with parents or carers, focusing on your child's early milestones, behaviour, and social interactions. This helps us build a detailed developmental profile.
Child Observation Sessions
Your child is invited to participate in child-friendly, play-based sessions. Our specialist clinicians use paediatric gold-standard diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 to observe and interact with your child in a supportive environment.
Gold-standard Diagnostic Tools
We apply industry-leading assessments like ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and ADI-R or 3Di (Developmental Interview tools). If ADHD is suspected as well, DIVA-5 may be included in the process.
Optional AI-assisted Eye-Tracking Analysis
For families who opt in, we enhance the traditional assessment with AI-assisted eye-tracking analysis, offering greater insight and supporting speed and accuracy.
Post-Assessment Feedback Session
Once the assessment is complete, you'll receive a personal feedback session where our clinicians discuss findings, answer your questions, and provide initial recommendations.
Full Written Diagnostic Report
A comprehensive written diagnostic report is provided. This document is widely accepted by GPs, education settings, and local authorities, and is invaluable for securing support, such as EHCPs.
Recommendations & Support
We offer informed recommendations for educational adjustments, family support, and further services. Our team ensures you know the next steps and where to turn for ongoing help.
With Neurodivergems, families are never left without support. If you are wondering if your child is autistic, we give personal feedback and clear guidance, and make the assessment process reassuring and straightforward.
